Summer Climbing
I know it's a bit late, but I didn't get a proper chance to upload the photos off the camera beforehand.
We flied to france for two weeks with all the gear end of August/beginning of September. The weather was perfectly dry, not so hot after 4.00pm, and the light was amazing. Exactly what we needed.
The first trip took us back to Saulges, but without the girls. We walked to the 'Grotte a Margot" to find that the nesting process that got us into trouble in June was fully finished, so all the routes were open to climbers.
We put the kits on and started warming up by climbing laterally between the routes. Driving there late in the afternoon after a big family lunch and a long nap meant we were the only climbers in the area, which is not always a good thing considering my level of practise (and stress).
never mind, I cracked on with a 4a that took me a reasonable 15-20 minutes to complete, gazing at the view before getting back down. I have stopped cheating by using different rings, it's pointless anyway as the whole point is to stick to your route.
Chris put his shoes on and cracked on with an impressive 6b that took him between two rocks. He unclipped off my line, clipped himself onto the ankle before rescuing a frightened bird stuck up there.
My goal was to achieve the 6a the girls were doing back in June. I was too inexperienced back then, and certainly too stressed, to even think about it, but I felt like I could do it now.
And result. It took me 50 minutes to climp up the 6b named after a random type of bird (Voie des chouettes), calm down my shaky legs, and glance around to realise how amazing the view onto the Vallee de l'Erve was. I could see miles away, however being stood onto a shaky rock and just clipped onto the main anker didn't put my mind at ease.
Chris told me to throw myself off the rock and try to rely on this same anker to ease the stress out, which I half did before getting a firm grip into a ring (strictly forbidden)
Anyways, I half jumped, half crumbled back down, forgetting to get my legs higher than my trunk, which could have spared me a few bruises.

The next trip would see us driving to l'Ile aux Pies, in the Redon area, for a morning climb before a well deserved dinner at my granddad's.
Part 1
Following my production schedule, I started my production by creating a new composition in After Effects and importing the assets onto labeled bins. The four bins currently being used are "Photoshop assets", "MISC assets", "Background assets", "Human assets".
The assets have then been imported onto my time line and rearranged in a correct order to match the continuity.
I cracked on with the design of the Earth which took me approx. 50 minutes following Video Copilot tutorial. The Earth is a simple 2d map with a perspective applied to it and an atmosphere in CGI. The atmosphere took me slightly longer to design as I needed to change the off set turb and the cycle. The earth now looks like a perfectly lit globe.
Once the Earth, atmosphere and stars have been set, (Earth rotating)I decided to start modeling the first character to appear in the composition.
This was a downturn as it took me much longer to model and design a 3D character in Photoshop than expected. Thus I am slightly behind my production schedule regarding the animation process, but managed to design a character matching my expectation.
I am hoping to power through the 0.00>> 2.24min of the song next week once the design of the child model will be finished. i will probably model this one on my spare time to be on schedule and start working on the inside imagery next Monday.
This will be a full day of compositing although I will also be using Photoshop for the mundane design but should hopefully be quicker than the early stage of compositing.
Ca ira mieux demain.
A production schedule is the best way to keep on track with your work and deal with general issues encountered during the production scheme. You assess what needs to be done, how and when. It's supposed to ease you out. make things easier.
Well, today, it fucking doesn't.
